Where it all began

I am not certain when my interest in flying began. Many people who become pilots say they always wanted to fly. I remember playing airplane as a kid. Flying from the neighbors front yard to mine and back to the fence which served as the airport. There is an old adage, how do you know if someone is a pilot? They will tell you. No longer current, so not flying, but its a part of me.

I became interested in martial arts at an early age as well. I am not sure what came first but I remember Honor Blackman in a James Bond movie. During the 1960s she practiced judo. I looked up her school, the Budokwaidojo in England. The plot of the Bond film involved flying and a break-in at Fort Knox.

Unless you are interested in 1960s type misogyny I would skip the Bond film and the character name she had for the movie. I found this book in the local library. I was stunned. As far as I can remember this is the first Martial Arts book I ever read. The best part of this story is that I learned a very nice wrist lock from the book which I still remember to this day. The picture to the left is from Amazon where this book is for sale for nearly $100.00.
